Ways You Can Help
Sponsorship
We have been fortunate to receive sponsorship from companies such as FMC Technologies and Redrow Homes as well as donations from The Russell Foundation and Scarborough Muir. In the past we have also successfully managed to secure funding from the Central Dunfermline Community Council, National Lottery, Carnegie Trust and The Round Table. All funding is given on a year-on-year basis and there is no guarantee that we will receive the same funding in the future. We desperately need this funding as it makes up just under half of the money needed to put on a Gala.
We have detailed below some of the things you can sponsor;
Balloons - Last year the balloons cost £2,500. Every child in the parade receives a balloon and the colourful sight of the balloons as the parade weaves it's way down the High Street is amazing. We are looking for any company who would be willing to cover the cost of the balloons in return for their logo on each balloon.
Goodie Bags - Every child taking part receives a plastic duffle bag which cost a total of £2,500 last year to produce. As the main sponsor of the Gala again this year, FMC Technologies have secured their logo on one side of the bag, but there is also an opportunity for other companies who make a substantial donation to have a logo on the other side. We are also more than happy to include leaflets or promotional materials in the goodie bags for a charge of £100.
Picnic Food - To ensure all of the children receiv
e a nutritious and substantial amount to eat the cost of the food has increased substantially over the years, totalling £6,500 last year. This includes a sandwich, fruit, drinks, crisps, treat and biscuits. This year we have already secured a donation from Walkers Snacks and Tunnocks, but would welcome any other donations from companies. We would also be grateful for any other offers of help, including donations, supply at cost prices
Donations
We would obviously welcome any donations towards the cost of the Gala, however small. We are also looking for prizes for raffles and competitions. Even if you are unable to make a financial donation, we would welcome any donation of time, expertise or contacts.
Fundraising
The Gala Committee work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds to meet the shortfall required to put on the Gala. We have had Casino Nights, Pamper Nights, Bag Packing, Horror Hills Sponsored Cycle and Collections (door to door and in the Kingsgate).
